Today we witness the suffering of the Ukrainian people, a country close to the hearts of the members of our church. Now is the time to help the people of Ukraine, to not abandon them in their time of need. Therefore let us join together as one church, one body to cry out together to God the Father.
Let us pray that he will intervene in this present situation, that he will protect the Ukrainian people, whose lives are at this moment threatened. That the Holy Spirit will change hearts away from war, and towards peace. If you are unsure of how to pray, scripture provides a prayer suited to this present moment. Let us pray Ephesians 3:14-21.
“14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Peoples Gospel Church Pastoral StaffBased on YRDSB announcement that all Ontario schools will be closed March 14 until April 5, 2020, PGC will make the following changes to our Sunday worship services:
We will cancel worship at BOSS on March 15, 22, 29 and April 5.
Executive board will announce alternative arrangement for the March 22 Special Membership Meeting.
Sermons are to be recorded, available for online viewing through PGC website before Sunday morning (about 20 mins in length)
Worship materials will be available for Cantonese, English and Children only.
We encourage brothers and sisters to worship at home with family or cell group members at the regular PGC worship time 11:00AM Sunday or other suitable time.
If there is guest speaker (e.g. March 22 Cantonese) we will not do video recording but will choose a YouTube sermon video related to our theme.
Sunday School will be cancelled. Teachers are encouraged to send materials to students.
Since the new coronavirus spreads so quickly and has been proven to be transmitted from person to person, we need to pay extra attention to health and safety. Please exercise extreme caution and security measures as recommended by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Brothers and sisters should pay attention to personal hygiene and well-being of the community. PGC will take the following precaution procedures during this emerging situation:
PGC will install alcohol hand sanitizers at all meeting places. Please make good use of the disinfection to maintain public hygiene, and wash your hands frequently. If you just returned from mainland China or other highly affected countries/regions, or just returned from a cruise trip, or live with someone who returned from these countries/regions, or suspect you had close contact with any such people, please refrain from attending any church activities for at least 14 days, stay home and seek medical help as necessary. (Please check the affected areas from Travel Health Notices of Canada)
If brothers and sisters feel unwell, please stay home to rest. If you experience flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, please immediately contact your family doctor, any public health agencies or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000
Please use other different greeting gestures in place of shaking hands.
Apart from PGCKids Staff serving in the Children Ministry, brothers and sisters should avoid touching children, especially newborn babies.
On Holy Communion Day, ushers will wear gloves to serve HC. Brothers and sisters will be invited to come forward to collect bread and cup from the Usher team.

Rev Tam is preaching at Hamilton Chinese Alliance Church this morning, pls pray for his sharing of God’s word.
Kevin & Jessica Ted is our newly sponsored missionary, they will have a Sharing with us at Cantonese congregation today. They belongs to OMF Canada and they will be going to Japan for their mission. Pls welcome them and pray for them.
Mar 31 is PGC church wide Mission Sunday. We will have sharing for all 3 congregations, pls welcome and pray for them and their ministries.
English congregation will have Pastor Louis Leung speaks to us about the vision and works of “Flow without Bounds Ministries” .
Cantonese congregation will have sharing from the “Love Foundation” team.
Mandarin congregation will have George Wang shares his involvement in “In Touch Ministries of Canada” and with “Showers of Blessings Evangelistic Ministry”.
